About I am an Assistant Professor with the Computer Graphics Laboratory at the University of California in San Diego. After graduating with a degree in computer science at ETH in Zurich, Switzerland, I obtained a PhD from the same school. My advisor was Markus Gross, who leads the Computer Graphics Laboratory at ETH. My PhD thesis focused on reconstruction, rendering, and editing of point-sampled geometry. From July 2003 to January 2006, I was a post-doctoral associate with the computer graphics group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My host was Fredo Durand. Research My research focus is in computer graphics. I am most interested in signal processing for high-quality rendering, point-based methods for rendering and modeling, and data-driven modeling and animation. For an overview of my research activities please see my list of publications. Teaching
